While Angola's economy experienced a modest GDP growth of 1.263% in 2023, this positive trend is significantly undermined by a high inflation rate of 13.644%. This disparity suggests that the purchasing power of citizens may be eroding despite overall economic expansion.

Angola faces a substantial challenge with unemployment, standing at 14.537%. This high figure indicates a significant portion of the workforce is without jobs, which can hinder economic development and contribute to social inequalities, especially given the country's relatively low GDP per capita.

Despite having over half of its land covered by forests (52.091%), which could potentially be a source for biomass or hydropower, only about half of Angola's population (51.100%) has access to electricity. This highlights a significant infrastructure gap and underutilization of potential natural resources for energy access.
